Often the term "free car" is used throughout Mary Kay to refer to its career cars. It's important to note that Brock's car is NOT free. Use of the MK career car is earned - not through sales of makeup - but by how much makeup is ORDERED by the consultant and her team members. Mary Kay Cosmetics does NOT track retail sales to end customers, and as such, there is no way of knowing how much of that ordered product was actually sold at full retail.
ReplyDeleteIf Brock fails to meet a monthly ordering quota, she must make a "co-pay" on the car. This co-pay can spike as high as $900 a month for the pink Cadillac, depending on how much the quota is missed by. Can you imagine having to scramble to get women to order makeup so you can keep driving your car each month, as opposed to just buying one outright and enjoying it for as long as it can be driven?
