The 2014 Great Lake Chase To Raise Money For Lifespan

Lake Norman Road Rally To Raise Money For Developmentally and Intellectually Disabled
Car enthusiasts and fun-seekers, are you ready for a road rally that will also do good?

The Great Lake Chase Road Rally is scheduled for Sunday, May 18, 1-5 p.m., along Lake Norman. The event will raise money for LIFESPAN Inc., a nonprofit that empowers children and adults with developmental disabilities. Up to 50 driving teams in new and classic cars will compete in a “scavenger hunt on wheels” around Lake Norman. Rally participants will encounter “Amazing Race”-style challenges and get clues along the route.

Leigh Derby, LIFESPAN founder, and Jan Skinner, LIFESPAN board member, teamed up to coordinate The Great Lake Chase Road Rally. The title sponsor is Randy Marion Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, GMC, Isuzu, and Subaru.

“Whether you’re a driving enthusiast, or you enjoy team games and sports, or solving riddles, or just looking for something very different to do on a Sunday afternoon, this event is for you!” said Derby.
Each car will have a driver and up to three passengers to assist in navigation, help answer trivia questions, participate in activities, or simply cheer on the driver. Three judges, including Jennifer Marion, will select the winning teams. Teams will be judged on time between checkpoints, highest score on trivia questions, points scored on activities, “coolness” of the car and extra points awarded by judges.

“This is all about raising money in a BIG FUN way,” said Derby. “We want you to have fun, be creative, and impress the judges. You’ll score more points!”
The Great Lake Chase Road Rally culminates with an awards celebration featuring a BBQ dinner and music by Wood Family Tradition, a bluegrass/gospel group.

Volunteers are needed to help with the checkpoints, the activities, photography/videography, and the awards celebration.

What is an ePrice?

What is an ePrice? An ePrice is a vehicle price that is specific to you. When purchasing a new vehicle the manufacturer (in this case General Motors) may offer rebates to every customer on qualifying vehicles. At Randy Marion Chevrolet Buick Cadillac we start our vehicles off at our selling price which is typically lower than the manufacturer's suggest retail price. We then take off from our price the manufacturer rebate. That is how we come to a new lower selling price that is displayed for everyone to see on our website. That vehicle is available for purchase at that price before tax, tag, title, and $599 administration fee. With an ePrice we take it a few steps further to personalize the offer based on your qualifications. There ,at times, are additional rebates available to "qualifying" customers, as you will hear. We often only need to ask you a few simple questions to see if you do qualify. Sometimes it's as easy as 'Who is your insurance provider?'. If your insurance provider has a matching rebate available, you can save another $500-$1000 off the price of the vehicle.

So request your ePrice today on any new Chevrolet, Buick, or Cadillac, including the Cadillac ATS, SRX, and XTS. You'll be contacted, at your preferred means of communication, by one of our professional sales associates and they will ask you just a few preliminary questions to determine your unique ePrice. Our customers want pricing information upfront and at Randy Marion Chevrolet Buick Cadillac we want to make the buying process easier for you and assure you that you are getting your best deal. Just remember at Randy Marion we are THE KING OF PRICE!

Jennifer Wins the 2011 Dancing with the Iredell Stars

Jennifer Mills and Harold Carrillo of the Havana Ballroom

The Salsa, Waltz, and Rumba are not just new steps for Nancy Grace, Ricki Lake, and J.R. Martinez out in Hollywood. Hot and spicy dance moves were right here in Iredell county Saturday night, when Mitchell Community College played host to the 2011Dancing with the Iredell Stars. Taking center stage was Randy Marion Automotive’s very own star, Jennifer Mills and her partner Harold Carillo of the Havana Ballroom. Jennifer went on to win the evening’s top honor of Judge’s Choice, as well as second place in the overall fan vote. It was a wonderfully entertaining evening with all proceeds benefiting the MCCEE Scholarship Fund. With numbers tripling that of last year, by the end of the night guests were energized by all the exciting performances and donated $77,000 to the cause.  We are looking forward to next year’s event!

Taste of the Lake - Hosted by Randy and Betty Marion

Article Courtesy of the Mooresville Tribune - Written by: Megan Sprague

Mooresville residents can get a “Taste of the Lake” Sept. 17 while raising money for Lowe’s YMCA.
Beginning at 6 p.m., chefs from Epic Chophouse, Ted’s Famous Chicken, A Tasteful Solution, Prickly Pear, La Patisserie, the Daily Grind, Shoals Saloon and Grill and Hickory Tavern will offer up their best dishes for the public’s tasting pleasure.

A silent auction will be held all evening, and a live auction will begin at 8 p.m.

The cost is $50 per person.

“The idea for ‘Taste of the Lake’ came from our board members as a way to raise money for our community outreach fund,” said Special Events Coordinator Leslie Byers. “The event is a way to showcase dishes from local restaurants, while enjoying live music and maybe winning a great item up for auction.

“We have some really great items to auction off, including Panthers tickets with a helicopter ride, a plane ride over Lake Norman, a condo on Kiawah Island and a Richard Petty driving experience.
We’re still looking for some nice, upscale auction items, like weekend getaways, so there will be a lot to bid on, and we would love to find a title sponsor.”

The event will be at the Lake Norman home of Randy and Betty Marion, who were benefactors of the chapel at the Lowe’s YMCA.

“The Randy Marion Auto Group is a family organization, as is the YMCA,” said Randy Marion. “The YMCA reaches people of all economic backgrounds and encourages involvement from kids, parents and grandparents. It’s a wonderful tool to strengthen the family.”

He said his family jumped at the chance to host the event.

“We wanted to help, because we’ve attended this event in the past and it’s a lot of fun,” he said.

“Overall, it’s one of the best fundraisers I’ve been to, and I hope this year will have the most attendance it’s ever gotten.

“By coming to the event, you can sample area restaurants you may not have tried before and maybe it will encourage you to eat there again,” he said. “It’s very important to me to support local businesses.”
All proceeds from the event will go to community outreach, supporting programs like Y-Readers, which promotes literacy, and Livestrong at the Y, which supports cancer patients and survivors. The money will also pay for camps and lessons for local children who would not otherwise be able to afford them.

“Last year, we raised $42,000, most of it from our live auction,” said Byers. “We’re off to a good start with our table sales, and I hope that will continue.”

He said that the event is one of the Y’s better fundraisers and is geared toward adults. “Most of what we do is geared toward families, but this is a fun event for an upscale, adult crowd and could make a great date night,” she said.

The $50 per person cost includes food, an open bar and live music.

Randy Marion Lifespan Holiday Party

Written by Megan Rockwell - Internet Sales Director     Email MRockwell@randymarion.com
Here are a few snapshots from the Randy Marion Lifespan Holiday Party we hosted this past December. LifeSpan transforms the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities by providing education, employment, and enrichment programs that promote inclusion, choice, family supports, and other best practices. We have partnered with the Troutman branch of Lifespan over the years and we were very excited to be able to bring some holiday cheer to them again in 2010. This time it came in the form of food, music, dance, oh and a special appearance by Elvis! We hope that we brightened a few individuals day, they certainly brightened ours.
